Hi Deb,

I was thinking along those same lines, but the more I thought about it, the more I was convinced that I'd have to find a different code for what I wanted to do. I guess I've used too many crazy macro languages where you could test for stuff like that.

Steve, I guess what I was thinking was that you can put those parameters
when using conditional page so I thought maybe you could somehow include
something that would say "if it's a new page, don't put the centered dotted
line at the top. You know, like you can do the hds command with the zero in
the parameters field??

Like I say, I don't know much about doing the kinds of things you're working
on but Conditional Page or Line or something just popped into my head.

Good luck!!!!!

Hi Deb,

I don't think conditional page break will help here because I don't want to
go to a new page. I'm really looking for a code that says, "print whatever
follows if it is anything but the first line on a page." Thus far, I
haven't found anything like that, and it seems that no one else has
either. Nevertheless, I keep hoping.
