Joe Sullivan was presented the "Blind SA Medal of Honour" at an event in
conjunction with the
Fifth General Assembly of the International Council on English Braille in
South Africa.
The medal was accompanied by a citation which concluded "Blind SA wishes to
express its gratitude
and appreciation to Joe for what he has done and continues to do for
braille readers worldwide,
but particularly in South Africa, by bestowing on him Blind SA's highest
merit award, the BLIND SA MEDAL OF HONOUR".
