David! Editing the3 cell number to 43 worked perfectly!! And, per our phone conversation, I'm mailing you a sample sheet to demonstrate the effecacy of your solution. Your tech support is great! D.H. Davey: What form size are you picking? If you are using the "11 inch wide paper" (11.5 wide, 11 inches high), then our records say it can handle 42 characters across. Our numbers have been rigorously checked by Enabling Technology. I have some questions for you: 1) Are you using 11.5 inch by 11 inch paper? 2) Have you done anything to increase the horizontal density of embossing (i.e. pack in more cells per inch)? 3) Do you think the Enabling numbers are wrong? Now, some information for you. The embossing characteristics of each embosser is controlled by the file emb.elt in the main directory containing your DBT 10.5 software. You can change this file with a text editor (such as Notepad or Wordpad). The beginning of the file contains lots of documentation. Be aware that each update to DBT will over-write this file, so save your changes in a safe place. You can either create a new form size for your embosser, or modify an existing one. Once you have changed emb.elt, delete the old embosser configuration, and then create a new one from scratch making use of your changes. It you believe there is an error in this file, please e-mail me directly. I hope this addresses all of your issues. -- David Holladay At 07:29 PM 9/21/2005, you wrote: Hi guys, This my first time here since we just bought a copy of DBT. Have those of you using Juliets found a way to get more than 42 available spaces? We want our cake and eat it too. With MegaDots and Juliet both being basically unaware from a Windows perspective, we can configure the Juliet to have 40 character lines beginning in what would bbe cell 4. That way we get a nice wide separation from the bindings. So far I've only experienced that the maximum width is 42 characters and if we want 3 cells of left margin then the most brailling room we have is 39 cells. When I unchecked the "control sequences", it shows left margins as 1 and right as 56, but when I go back to the general tab, it only gives me 42, so that work around didn't work. I also tried to fool the system with extra wide paper. The numbers worked right then, but it locked my machine up every time I then tried to emboss with those settings. Or do you all just succumb to 39 cells? Thanks all. D.H. Davey Hulse, CEO Braille Plus, Inc. Your license is a single-user license, which essentially means that only the licensed user can use it at any one time.
