Hi George,
Hi Stephen,
I think at this point, a call to Sighted would be your best bet.
However, I will try to locate my network port information when I get back to the office.
George.

Hi George,
I've told the embosser to obtain an ip automatically. I then had the embosser print the page. It came back with an ip of 192.168.1.210. The subnet and gateway, and tftp were all there as well.
I then proceeded to ping the beast and damn, if I didn't finally get a positive response. Hoooray!
What is the next step?
And, thanks hugely for you patience and help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2005 4:02 AM Subject: [duxuser] Re: Networking Basic-d
workingHi Stephen,

Hi george,
Yes, the utility does have an ip option and it does allow you to specify an ip.
When I tried that, it said "transfer complete. Your suggestion of having to use a usb or parallel cablethe question as to why I kept getting no ip. Thanksagain.StephenMuch appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2005 9:27 PM Subject: [duxuser] Re: Networking Basic-d
the DNS/DHCPHi Stephen,
I'm at home right now, but as I recall, you can turn offfunction. I just can't recall if you do this via theEmbosser's ownUtility has an IPsetup, or using the Embosser Utility.
You'll need to use a parallel or USB cable, but theAddress option in one of its two or three menus, so can Isuggest youlook at the Embosser utility?
George.

I tried pinging again after awhile and got request timedchecked on the index and the ip had reverted back tozeros.is----- Original Message ----- From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2005 7:37 AM Subject: [duxuser] Re: Networking Basic-d
Next thing I'd try Stephen, would be to connect theembosser direct toyour PC's network port, and try pinging the embosseragain. If it isOK, then it perhaps points to a router issue, which is awhole othernetwork cableball game.
If it fails, then there are two possibilities. 1) Themay be suspect, or perhaps crossover when it should bestraightStephenthrough. Or 2) you need to change the IP address.
George.
