Hi George,
it will be good to see the next release of DBT out. I am already impressed
with the additional features you speak of. I certainly would applaud the
cursor changes and also the ability to edit codes.
If I were to think about what features I would like included in a new DBT
release, I think that top of my list would have to be the ability to mark a
block of text and then using the find and replace feature make changes which
only affect that text block.
Secondly, I would like the ability to import a file directly into the file
I am
already working in.
Thirdly, I note that sometimes when using codes, if certain errors occur eg:
the beginning and ending codes are reversed. As an operator dependant on
speech, I would like a quick and easy (eg keystroke) method of finding the
other part of the code. This would save heaps of time.
Fourthly: I would like a DXP document to save with the current translation
parameters - line length and page length to be part of that document. Such a
feature would make it much easier for those transcribers who use a variety of
page shapes and it would mean less need to use the {iffrint} and {ifbrl}
commands in the top of the file.
Next: I would like to be certain that when importing a document from Word, no
matter what styles were used within the Word document, all text would be
imported. eg: no longer would text in header style be ignored. If tnhis
custom must continue, please can the import process at least warn us that some
text is being omitted and the reason as to why be given.
These are a few of my wishes, if I have more I will also write with them.
