Becky,

Based on your description of the symptoms, I'd say you have a mechanical problem with the embosser. The best way to determine this is to put the embosser in Self-test mode, which you can do by following these steps:

1. Take the printer off line by pressing the On/Off-line button on the keypad.
2. Then enter the service menu by pressing 0E on the embosser's keypad.
3. Start the self-test by pressing 3E on the keypad. The embosser will print all six dots of the cell, and continue to do so until you press any key on the keypad. Let the embosser run for a few pages to see whether the dots in cells 24-30 stop printing as they did in your documents. When you have printed enough pages to determine that the cells are either printing or not printing correctly, press any key on the keypad to stop the embossing. 4. Exit the service menu by pressing 1E. The embosser will go through its normal startup sequence and come back on line.

If your embosser misbehaves during the self-test, it's time to call your friendly Tech Support person at Enabling. If all cells print correctly during the self-test, it's time to reset the embosser to factory defaults. As I said before, I don't think you'll have to do that.

Steve
