Sorry, I meant to say 20 lesson course. Also, if you have the latest perky duck go to the help menu it has all the details you would need but in brief it works just like a Perkins brailler but uses your keyboard instead. I have mine set to sdfjkl and the space bar.

Dear Eileen,

If you are in the U.S. you can go to nfb.org/transcribers and signup for a free 20 week course. The materials are either in print or braille depending on your needs. Only the last lesson requires either an embosser or a brailler and then only if you want certification.

Hope this helps.

Hi Folks:

I am interested in doing the self-study Braille transcription course which of course, doesn’t allow the use of a Braille translator. I can use Perky Duck, which I have successfully downloaded. However, where can I find instructions on how it works and using it?

Thanks for any pointers.

Eileen
