Yes, I'm using MathType to produce math braille. It's also has
features that can use by user with visual impairment. Not only that,
MathType can also be use to produce other accessible math content.

Kathy,
If the truth be known, in the early days of Word for Windows, “Equation
Editor” was in fact developed and produced by Design Science. However it
was, and still is, a fairly basic component within Word.
I also have to say that Design Science have been a great company to work
with in developing greater access to mathematics in braille, and as you so
rightly point out, there is that additional flexibility with Large Print.
Personally, I also have to take off my hat to David Spybey, former Head of
Mathematics at New College in Worcester, who has also been a great partner
to work with. David once asked me if I could, “elaborate on what DBT could
NOT do”, and that was the start of the challenge.
And of course with Joe Sullivan, President of Duxbury Systems, a very keen
mathematician himself, and Caryn Navy on staff, a screen reader user with a
PhD in Math, we have a great team of people.
One of the significant successes I am proud to relate is that for the first
time, mathematics is now being successfully taught to braille users in many
3rd world countries.
With the education concession price, MathType is not an expensive add-on
compared to what it does.

Are you aware that MathType is free to download and use for a limited time?
If you then choose not to purchase, it reverts to a lite mode, which you may
continue to use. We have been using the lite mode and found that it can do
virtually everything we need for braille.
As we are producing large print as well as braille, MathType gives us far
more flexibility with being able to define such things as fonts, font sizes
and the relative sizes of such things as superscripts and subscripts.
We are now choosing to purchase to make easier to update a whole document to
a different font type or size when customising for different large print
readers.

Good morning,
How come Equation Editor in Word is not compatible with Duxbury? I have Word
2016 and Duxbury 11.3.
