Hi George,

I guess it's the work machine that has had the most modifications done to it as they're running a template that they've made with their styles in it. My home machine is just running the English/Australian translation table and no specific template. Basically what I need to do is match the box styles from my work machine to my home machine. We have a box style that puts three or four full cells at the beginning of the line, then a line of dots 3 and 5, like middle C's, across the rest of the line. Tha'ts the beginning of the box-4 code and the end is the same thing in reverse, so the row of dots 3 and 5 ending in three or four full cells. My home machine's box style is a full line of dots 2 3 5 6. Either one of these styles would be OK but since I'm working on the documents across computers I can't get that consistency because neither Duxbury seems to recognise the others box style. Hope this has made some sense.

Cheers,

Nadine.

Hi Nadine,

I guess the first thing to be careful about is establishing
WHICH machine has had its styles modified, and why.

It is also perhaps possible that the embosser setup may have
a bearing. For example, you might have different embossers
and/or different sized paper, or maybe just different
characters per line and/or lines per page.

Or are you perhaps using a different Template? Hence it may
be that you could simply copy the Template from one machine
to the other.

I'm perhaps being over cautious, but not knowing your
circumstances, it's difficult to give sound advice. If you
change things on your work machine, it could have
implications for work done by other people. If you change
the home machine, it could impact on your own material.

So yes, a little more in depth explanation of what you are
trying to do would be helpful.

George.

Subject: [duxuser] Style question

Hi all,

I am currently doing some work on a book and I'm working on
it in two different locations: at home and at work. I've
noticed that some of the styles act differently on my two
machines and I figure I need to modify them so they match
and each version of Duxbury will recognise them and do what
I want. I'm using Duxbury 10.4 on both machines. Can anyone
tell me how to modify styles? Or do I need to give a more
indepth explanation of what I'm trying to do?

Cheers,

Nadine.
