Yes, and that's what I did; I took the [sc] and [kps] codes out and changed the runover to 5. Lovely! Works just the way I wanted it. Also, I am indeed using [l] codes at the ends of lines; I went through and took all the [<]'s that were in my document. And still... They are only bounded by the [l] code which you get by hitting ctrl-L. And for a style whose name ends with a period, such as list., a "linear" style, the beginning and end of the style are determined by the line or paragraph boundary, not entirely by where you highlighted. Whether you use the shifted arrows or the ctrl-H method, check to see what is being highlighted. In Window-Eyes this is done with shift-ctrl-M. I don't like the way the list. style keeps list items together on a page and tries not to break them, so I make much use of [ptys] and various levels of indent, the old-fashioned way, interspersed with h2 or h3 headings as appropriate. I've been too lazy to create a style that does exactly what I want. But it would probably be a simple matter of removing some [kp...] or [ki...] codes from the opening and closing definitions of the list. style.
