Hi Barbara,

SWIFT is an add-on for Word for Windows which, among other things, allows you
to click on a menu item and go direct from your open Word file into DBT. You
can also emboss direct from Word. Additionally there is a facility for
handling acronyms in Word where letter signs are required in braille.

SWIFT is normally installed when you install DBT, provided of course Word for
Windows is already installed.

It is all explained in DBT's Help under the main topic, "Working with Word".

George.

OK. I will just ask. What is SWIFT? Why should I use it? Where do I find it?

Barbara

  Hi Katie,

Do you have SWIFT installed in Word? If so, add LSD to the Acronym Table,
apply the table, and DBT will do the rest. It will essentially translate to
double dot 6 L S D

  George.

What is the correct way to transcribe the term LSD? This is for a health text
and when I imported from word it is showing it as Lsaid in Duxbury and that
similarly happened when she printed document from her accessible PDA that was
in braille and converted to Word.
