We use plastic Braillable sheets which we cut to the necessary size for the
front cover done in braille. We get these sheets from American Printing House
for the Blind.

In addition we put in print a label for the sighted person. We use a Brother
electronic labeling system Model PT-65. The tape is 1/2" or 3/8" whichever you
like to put on your combs. We send lots of our books to schools and so the
sighted teacher loves to have the print version on the comb so that it can be
spotted easily on a shelf without having to take each volume out and read the
braille title.

We have over 750 children's books in Grade 2 braille and about 70 in Grade 1
braille which our volunteer group are able to emboss and bind. We do not charge
for our work but do ask for paper exchange or donation for our supplies..

I can be contacted if anyone wants a list of the books we can reproduce.

  Hi,

Could someone give me advice on what you use for labels for the bindings of
braille books. It would be the 1" comb bindings.

  Thanks,
