Oh boy! Something I've recently genned up on.
I should first explain that "compinline" is a Character Style, whereas "compdisplay." is a Paragraph Style.
The next thing I have to admit about the "compinline" and "compdisplay." Styles as far as BRITISH Computer braille in DBT is concerned, is that the Codes for "Compdisplay." are wrong.

"compinline" does what it should do, and embraces the text with a Dot 4 ing sign.
However, "compdisplay" should begin the section of text with a row of centered ow signs, and end with a row of centered o's.
Bear in mind that with computer type text, we might be talking about say the term, "FPRINT" in a normal sentence like this, which needs to be shown as a computer term.
However, if listing dozens of lines of computer program code, it obviously makes sense to "group" such lines of text.
Now, the letter sign question.
It is usually extremely important to know the case of letters in computer program code, and going back a thousand years, program code was once almost all in upper case.
So, British computer braille dictates that upper case letters are the default. If you start with upper case, there is no dot 6 case indicator. But change to lower case, and dots 5,6 are used to indicate lower case begins. When reverting to upper case, dot 6 is used. As long as you continue in Upper Case, you'll never see a dot 6 capital sign afterwards.

Hello all
Could somebody please explain what the difference is between compinline and
comp display? When I tried using the compinline style in the British Braille
template I got something which looks like British computer braille but with
dot 6 ing sign before and after. Are these indicators now standard?
And there was also a letter sign between the indicator and the first letter
of the email address. Why? The address was in lower case but would this
letter sign be necessary or should the absence of a capital sign be enough?
This would be my opinion.
And finally: DBT broke up the lines with no indication of hyphen or
suchlike. Would the comp display do this better?
