DBT and Juliet 120 has a far way to go with graphic embossing. Juliet 120 isn’t
in my opinion that good with text documents. DBT with other graphic embossers
has done well. I reproduced a picture of the tower at the “Indiana School for
the Blind and Visually Impaired” which was surrounded by a circle with the
letters in the School’s name spelled out this was tactilely provided for their
Alumni Cookbook and Alumni Directory.

My experience with graphics, DBT, and the Juliet 120 has not been very positive
in result. The problem is that DBT, and the Juliet, does not, as far as I know,
allow for gradient levels of dot embossing, so it is either a full dot or it's
not. So pictures of food embossed, in my limited experience, will not come out
well at all. With DBT and the Juliet, all graphics are very blocky attempts by
using the braille 6x2 spacing of embossed dots.
The option we had to turn to was Tiger Designer and their SpotDot embosser, as
it allows gradient dot embossing and is not limited to the braille text 6x2
format. But even then, pictures are very difficult, especially if there are
many "shaded" colors which result in many gradient levels of dots. We had to
use this system for many maps and the results were descent, albeit
time-consuming, but it still required a sighted person to describe what she was
feeling and guide her to understand the map border lines, rivers, etc...
But I consider myself a novice embosser, only beginning my journey this year
with our first request for braille materials from a student. I would love to
find a better and easier way to do graphics.

containing all the recipes we made.
This book will contain pictures.
If my teacher emails me the book, probably as a pdf, can my juliet pro 120 and
dbt handle this?
Will the images come out properly?
