The Juliet 120, as well as the other current Enabling Technologies
embossers, will go into a higher resolution graphics mode, meaning that the
dots will emboss much closer, much smaller, and not in the 2x6 spacing for
standard braille text. The graphics software that works with this line of
embossers is called Firebird and should have come with your embosser. If
not, it is a free download. Any images must be brought into Firebird,
edited as necessary, then sent to the embosser.
DBT does not have the capability to import print images and convert them to
tactile graphics. The only graphics you can produce with DBT are simple
drawings created as "dot" graphics, using the braille cells to make the
picture. You can, however, produce a graphic created with QuickTac,
Duxbury's free very simple drawing program, and embed it in a DBT file with
braille text. It does not do a very good job of converting a print image
to a tactile graphics, however.
As Robert mentioned, the ViewPlus embossers will "see" print images and
emboss them in high resolution. The readability can be quite difficult
since print images use very different features to portray their meaning
than tactile graphics use.

were descent, albeit time-consuming, but it still required a sighted person

lines, rivers, etc...
But I consider myself a novice embosser, only beginning my journey this
year with our first request for braille materials from a student. I would
love to find a better and easier way to do graphics.

The class runs through May, and at the end of the class, we'll compose a
book containing all the recipes we made.
This book will contain pictures.
If my teacher emails me the book, probably as a pdf, can my juliet pro 120
and dbt handle this?
Will the images come out properly?
