The label stock we use has a paper backing which is peeled off after the 
embossing is done.  No, you sure wouldn't want to run it without the backing.

Does this clear plastic have a gummed back to stick onto stuff?  How is 
that gook on the embosser's pins?  Don't they get a little gummed up in the 
process of embossing?
