I second this. We buy the tractor feed advesive sheets from American Thermoform. I once saw an embosser with a label that had gotten stuck inside. They had to have half of the hammers replaced in it.

I'd be very careful about attaching a piece of plastic to a sheet of paper and trying to run it through an embosser. There's a good chance the plastic might jam as it's being pulled through the embosser mechanism. Even if you could find a fool-proof way to attach the plastic to the paper, you'd have to be sure your embosser could make reasonable dots without being damaged, or destroying the plastic.
