John, in addition to what Caroline said, I have an idea that will fix the tabs
problem mentioned in the last point. While she's in DBT, have your friend go
into the Jaws configuration manager, advanced settings, and change the number
of pixels per tab from 8 to 80. This should eliminate the display gaps she's
having trouble with.

Hi. The scripts for DBT are set to install in version 5 of JFW. Do this.

Go to C:\Duxbury\jaws and copy the six files that appear in that folder to
the clipboard. Now, navigate to the JAWS 6 settings\enu folder, (in Windows Xp
c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\freedom
scientific\jaws\6.X\settings\enu where X represents your JAWS version number,
0, 1, or 2), and paste the six files into this folder. Now, open DBT. If you
get a message about getting a list of JAWS hotkeys you're done. If not, press
insert-F2 and go down to script Manager. Open this up. Press Control-S which
will recompile the scripts. Now, close configuration manager. The program
should now read as it did before.

Note: There may be easier ways to get to your JFW 6 folder, but I have given
the long way here simply because I have no way of knowing what configuration is
being used. Also, instead of the folder All Users, you can substitute the
folder of the user, (for example on my machine I would use Owner), if you want
to make these settings specific to one particular user. (Again, this is
specifically for Windows XP.)

Finally, if an older version of JAWS, such as 5.0 or 5.1 exists, you could
skip the steps I've given above and simply go to the JAWS window, utilities,
and choose the Merge Utility. Select the version of JFW that you want to merge
with, (in this case 5.X), and let JFW update all your previous settings and
scripts for you. Good luck, and hope this helps.

  Caroline
