Howard you shouldn't have tired using 10.4 settings. The best way would
have been to choose the printer you want and see if it worked correctly.
I have had 10.4 through 10.6 and the way things are handled is vary
different.

Subject: [duxuser] scarey stuff

And this is why I'm scared to death of these upgrades:
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the Dux 10.6. I refused to let it
authorize itself--if even it could; I think we'll need to pay something
for an upgrade. It installed as a demo using mostly default settings.
I went through the embosser settings and set it to our embosser and the
settings as close as I could find to 10.4.

Well now: when I loaded a duxbuer 10.4 file it gave me lots of static,
questions I thought I answered correctly, ha ha. Sent it to the
embosser to find the margins way off, even page numbers not
showing--maybe off the page, some half pages of braille and some blank
pages.

So I'm scared; I don't think our Center should go ahead and buy this
upgrade. I hope I'm all wrong and that someone can point me to some
real quick and real dummy instructions that'll show me how to do it
right.

Thanks, if you can tell me what I didn't do.
