Howard: as it says on the cover of "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy": Don't Panic!

The embosser margins and all are very different between 10.4 and 10.6. So answering them "the same way" could in fact be the source of your problems.

I will offer you 2 choices:

1) Go back to 10.6, and delete any embosser configurations you have. The reset them, making sure you get the embosser model right, and the form size right. Leave all other prompts alone (the one exception, if you have an Index, it will want to know which Index software you are using). Now emboss a few trial pages. If you want more of a margin, go back to Edit the configuratation to get it the way you want.

2) Call Duxbury tech support.

Feel free to e-mail me directly.

And this is why I'm scared to death of these upgrades:
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the Dux 10.6. I refused to let it authorize itself--if even it could; I think we'll need to pay something for an upgrade. It installed as a demo using mostly default settings. I went through the embosser settings and set it to our embosser and the settings as close as I could find to 10.4.

Well now: when I loaded a duxbuer 10.4 file it gave me lots of static, questions I thought I answered correctly, ha ha. Sent it to the embosser to find the margins way off, even page numbers not showing--maybe off the page, some half pages of braille and some blank pages.

So I'm scared; I don't think our Center should go ahead and buy this upgrade. I hope I'm all wrong and that someone can point me to some real quick and real dummy instructions that'll show me how to do it right.

Thanks, if you can tell me what I didn't do.
