David,
Thanks for your timely but terse reply. Where is it written in documentation
that it is not possible to update translation tables or that certain tables are
tied to certain versions of DBT? These tables were provided by Joe Sullivan as
updates with no reference to version.
Maybe you should provide your customers adequate info before you accuse them of
"encourage(ing) persons to damage their own DBT installations"
As we say here "Pull yer head in David" (ie get off your high horse)
I do not care for your tone.
Alan

TIA Alan:

The way for DBT to recognize a translation table designed for DBT 11.1 is to
install DBT 11.1.
There is no other way.

If you want modern tables, contact Duxbury Systems for an update.

I assume that everyone on this list is mature enough to understand that it is
in the customer's best interest that we can provide support to software that
can be described solely by the version number.

To all listers: do not try this at home. Do not mix and match braille
translation tables. Yes, if you cannot afford an update, you will need to
re-install the older version.

Please use the high road. Duxuser is a service provided by Duxbury Systems. It
is not a forum to encourage persons to damage their own DBT installations.

Hi Listers.
I recently updated the UEB translation tables in DBT10.7 by copying the latest
enuncp.btb and enuncb.btb files to C:\Duxbury, overwriting the existing files.
Now I have no UEB translation tables showing in the list and I suspect these
files need to be installed somehow so DBT can ?see? them. Any suggestions on a
fix other than a re-install of the whole program would be welcome.
TIA Alan
