Welcome aboard the Tech train on this bright and cheerful Saturday morning. We had 8  happy campers joining us this morning. This morning the alternate fighting blindness choir the unvisionary crows sand a out of tune rendition of Happy Birthday. This was for birthdays we missed and for up and coming birthdays.
Jackie kicked us off telling us about her new purchase of a cosori   dual blaze air fryer  This frier works with Google home, the only down side a safety feature  is the start button must be pressed on the frier to start the cooking process.   Jackie said this isn't a  deal breaker as she has placed a locator dot on the start button. This isn't a feature on other models of this air frier.  The app for this device is accessible with voiceover. This started a conversation on what can be cooked in an air frier and Joanne said for cooking meats a talking meat thermometer might be a safe suggestion especially when cooking chicken or things that look like chicken. This is the link for the air frier Jackie bought, The cost  Including customs charges it was  €211. Jackie got this on the prime sale.

Jackie also happily reported her Orbit braille reader 20+ has risen from the dead. Its still unclear why it needed treatment but its great its back working again. The only issue she had was it wouldn't connect to the phone. When Jackie pressed the select button and right arrow it said "hid orbit". Jackie then asked google "how do you turn on bluetooth on an Orbit reader" Google answered with turn bluetooth on by going through the settings, Jackie howled but then google said "press dot7 space and 4" this turns bluetooth on and off. Once bluetooth was back on Jackie could connect it to her phone. This made Jackie very happy.

Stuart told us all about his new iPhone 15 Pro Max which he got on Wednesday. Stuart's Siri is now working, and he finds it much more snappy compared to his iPhone 11. One notable improvement is the action button, a new feature that has been added to the iPhone 15. It replaces the mute switch above the volume buttons and can be configured to do a number of things including turning on the torch, the camera, accessibility features, and activating a shortcut from the iOS shortcuts app. Stuart finds this action button very useful; he uses it to activate "Be My Eyes" quickly. It is also significantly faster to use overall, and the speed of downloading is very fast as well.

Paul said  the TV guide app   is posing him problems. There is advertisements that is blocking him from reading the rest of that days listings.   Paul was always happy with this app but now it makes it very difficult to work. The only way Paul works it is to do the two finger scrub to go back. The issue  is you can only swipe through a few shows and then an add comes up and you can't get any further. Ger asked can you get an add blocker for it but Stuart said that add blockers don't work for apps. Ken tried his app and he did a three finger swipe up on the add  and this got him passed it and onto other programs.  Paul will try this and report back.Martin said he got Seeing AI and Be My AI to read stuff for him. Martin found seeing AI better than be my AI. This started a conversation on how we are all using Be my AI. We all agreed that its totally amazing.Cearbhall mentioned something about outlook and plain text and HTML. but here's a nice song to fill the gap for this piece. Cearbhall did get the issue sorted I just don't know how. Now for the song.

Now before I get beaten by white canes and dog leads we were discussing the term blind and other such stuff. Martin can also sing this song very well. We also recounted our quiz scores on Alexa. Joanne is still out on top with Ger and Paul coming close, poor Jackie and Ken haven't gotten off the first run of  the ladder. Chat GP T also got a good run out this morning. People are really enjoying all the fun stuff and all the serious stuff you can do with it. It was suggested to change these notes but one can't change perfection.
The meeting ended with discussion on food.
All have a good Saturday
