looking for clarification about the visionaries choir. my understanding from
the website is that it's a Christmas concert. below there is mention of the
visionaries choir in relation to a competition. if one goes to the concert on
the 9th of December is one listening to a competition? does this mean there
will be other quires also? I was very disappointed in the venue which is a nine
minute walk from the nearest bus stop! not exactly 100% accessible for visually
impaired or at least visually impaired who are travelling without sighted guide.

Good morning, it's me, the notetaker, here on this frosty December morning.
So sit back and enjoy the read of the antics that took place at the most
recent Dublin Technology Club.

Four participants started the meeting early. The notetaker thinks that
everyone was out Christmas shopping instead of attending the meeting this
week.
There was a bit of discussion about how cold it has been in the last few
weeks.
Martin told the group he is using NVDA this morning because JAWS was acting
up for him. He finds it quite easy to use. He explained how to activate and
deactivate NVDA using Control + Alt + N.
Cearbhall brought up the recent email regarding the experiment a woman down
in UCC wishes to do. He explained the experiment, and the note taker
participated in it. Cearbhall said he would resend the email to the list,
leading to a long discussion on the project.
Bob asked if anyone is currently using devices that are similar to navigate,
describing ones he has heard of such as one that is the size of a cigarette
lighter, one built into a hat, and a belt version,. He mentioned names like
Mowat.

vibrates. The topic of vibrating devices and alternatives to using a cane
sparked an interesting discussion.
Cearbhall mentioned having issues with Zoom, involving VoiceOver volume being
too loud. Mary shared difficulties with VoiceOver focusing on an element on
the screen, and Albert suggested changing the double-tap timeout setting in
the accessibility settings under VoiceOver.
The note taker described how he uses Be My Eyes to take text out of
screenshots, leading to a discussion on how to take more than one picture in
the app. To do this open be my eyes, select be my AI, take a picture, wait
until you get the description, select ask more, locate the text field and
swipe left to find ad picture.
Mary informed the group about the Visionaries Choir competition at

The group discussed navigation apps, favoring BlindSquare. Albert mentioned
its ability to set markers on specific shops for notifications.
