Hi Eamonn,
Very good and so apt.
I am a classic buff and Classic FM is my personal favourite station.
However, many blind folk world over are eking out a living by mixing songs and
acting as 'virtual' DJ'S on internet radio stations.
I often listen to mushroomfm.com and I ask my smart speakers to stream this
during the day when I do my house work.
You too can go to mushroomfm.com/escape and get some great Audio Described
movies on the week end.
They do 3 per day and repeat them across the 24 hours.
But when you ask your smart Speaker to find Mushroom escape this goes back to
old fashion radio when people used to act and talk on the radio.
BBC 4 will soon be one of these attribute station.
You may have heard of Jonathon Mosen (the Mosen Explosion) an Australian Blind
lad who used to have a tech Program for the RNIB.
He now does a great show on mushroomfm.com
and he is very worthwhile listening to?
Do have a good easter,
Garth Long

Subject: [fb-exchange] Easter Radio
Hi folks, a very happy Easter to you all; and my thanks to the note takers, who
do a wonderful job. As there are a couple of things happening on radio this
Easter, I thought a note to the list might be in order.
Classic FM:
As is traditional over the Easter weekend; the classic FM Hall of Fame runs
from Good Friday to Easter Monday, from 9 am to 7 pm. It is a survey of the 300
most popular pieces, as voted for by listeners to classic FM.
Radio Caroline:
Tomorrow marks the 60th anniversary of radio Caroline. In addition to its own
low powered frequency of 648, it is also relayed by Manx radio on 1368 kHz. As
the Manx radio transmitter is 20 kW, it provides a very good signal along the
east coast of Ireland.
You can ask your Amazon or Google smart speaker to play classic FM, radio
Caroline or Manx radio.
NewsTalk programme:
RTÉ producer Hugh Hick, (who is currently working with Sightless Cinema,) has
produced a show which will be broadcast by Newstalk at midday this coming
Monday. He mentioned it yesterday, but I cannot remember its title, or whether
it is a drama or documentary!
BBC Radio 4:
From the 15th of April, BBC Radio 4 will no longer be available on medium wave.
It will of course be available on smart speakers and BBC Sounds here, as well
as FM and DAB in the UK
