Hi folks,
Hope to find you all in good fettle and all geared up for our weekend of
walking and socialising Friday 14th to Sunday 16 June in the Carrickdale Hotel.
Just a few details regarding the arrangements for travel, the walks
and requirements for weekend. There is one room left for two to three sharing
if anybody would like to take this up, however we must know by Friday 7th June
as the hotel will need to take it back if itâs not needed.
A bus will meet the 3.20pm Enterprise service train from Dublin Connolly
arriving in Dundalk at 4.15pm to transfer everybody to the Carrickdale Hotel.
If anybody is planning to travel earlier or later and is making there own way
to the Carrickdale Hotel, we must know in advance as we need to decide on the
kind of transport required to be at the station for those coming on the 3.20pm
train. Please call Pat on 087 7708200 and let him know.
Keep an eye on the weather and take adequate clothing and a rain jacket with
you. Trainers are sufficient for both walks. Long walk is 16k and short walk
is 8k. The mid way break for the long walk is at Ghan House in Carlingford,
built in 1727 itâs a fully restored Georgian house. There opening especially
to accommodate us on the occasion of our visit to Carlingford. Tea coffee and
scones will be provided at a cost of 7 euro per person.
Please remember to take any medication you may be on with you and to label your
luggage so as it can be easily identified by those assisting.
Anybody that can play a musical instrument feel free to bring it along.
Looking forward to meeting you all again on the 14th, we hope the weather
improves too.
