Can you go to iCloud in the iPhone settings and see if you have
Calendars checked to use ICloud?
You'll find it under the "Marion Braennan Apple Id and iCloud" item
at the very top of the first screen in Settings.
Double tap that and in the next screen, look for the "iCloud button".
Double tap that and then look down through the apps that are checked
to use the iCloud. I suspect you will find the Calendar is not
checked. If that is the case, then check it and go back to the desktop.
Now go to the Calendar app and click on "Calendars" at the bottom of
the screen. You should now see "Show all calendars" and iCloud should
be the first one. Just check all the calendars that you want to use.
This is what we were looking for on Monday. Make sure that "iCloud" is
iPhone.
Try that and let me know what you find.

in the iPhone calendar after apparently setting it up. We found that
this related to the active calendar. We fixed Michael up but Marion
was still in trouble. It looks as though the iCloud Calendar has to
be enabled. See

1. Open the Calendar app and tap an event to open it.
2. Tap the calendar name to see if the event is in an iCloud calendar.
Set an iCloud calendar as the default calendar:
1. Tap Settings > Calendar.
2. Tap Default Calendar.
3. Tap a calendar under iCloud to make it your default.
