I was speaking with Cearbhall about Smart Meter reading yesterday.
I have recently moved to an Electricity Smart Meter. Separately, we installed
solar panels on the house about 6 months ago.
My supplier is SSE Airtricity.
With a Smart Meter, you can opt for the electricity network AirGrid and ESB
Networks, to read the meter every 30 minutes. The results go to a central
database. Your supplier gets access to this central database.
Suppliers then provide customers with a website or app to read the smart
meter details.
I am able to monitor the solar panels via a app provided by the solar panel
company, StartSolar.
I am interested also to understand my electricity usage from the smart meter
at 30 minute intervals to understand the impact of solar panels on usage.
I have just now been trying to read my smart meter details via SSE
airtricity.
I have logged on successfully to the SSE Airtricity website and was able to
download my bill as a pdf. However, so far, I am unable to read the smart
meter history. I have tried to download the information both from a PC
using Microsoft Edge and NVDA and from an iPhone using Safari and VoiceOver.
Note this is a website, not an app.
The webpage looks for a date range to download usage history. It appears that
this page is not accessible to NVDA or VoiceOver, or if it is accessible, I
have not yet found a way to read it.
I will keep you updated on progress.
