Dominique, You ask a great question! As far as I can see, the mono switch serves the purpose of someone who can only hear in one ear or who has only a mono output system. A question was asked in 2008 whether there was some means of listening to the iPod in mono rather than stereo because the individual could only hear in one ear and was losing content by listening through one earpiece in stereo mode. I think you should keep this set to off for your own purposes. I see that you find the sound better in stereo anyway! Hope this explains the need for the switch. I've been getting used to my iPod and am wondering what does "MONO AUDIO ON, OFF" and "ALTERNATIVE SOUND" mean?. And what happens when I change these settings? I always like when listening to "RADIO & MUSIC" in "Stereo", as I think the quality is much better and everything can be heard sharper. I've changed "MONO AUDIO" from "ON", to "OFF" and the sound is actually clearer and in "stereo" now which it wasn't previously. All the "MUSIC" sounds much better and I can hear all the instruments, which I couldn't before when it was at it's original settings of "ON" in both settings. I'm getting better at navigating around the screen also. Thank you Technology Geniuses for your assistance. Which is always very much valued and appreciated! Regards. Dominique. =========================================================== The fb-exchange mailing list Manage account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/fb-exchange Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/fb-exchange Administrative contact: insight@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx =========================================================== =========================================================== The fb-exchange mailing list Manage account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/fb-exchange Archives: //www.freelists.org/archives/fb-exchange Administrative contact: insight@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ===========================================================
