Honestly, it’s not something I ever have the need to do personally. I get by
with the digital or audiobook versions.
If I am scanning text using my phone, I recommend an app called Voice Dream
Scanner. I’m sure there are other good ones available too.
It allows for batch scanning, so you can do multiple pages.
Be My Eyes virtual volunteer only takes one or two photos at a time, plus it’s
more about interpreting images and allowing you to ask questions, rather than
just reading them.
Another option is using a flat bed scanner with software on your PC. Back in
college I did this with software called Kurzweil 1000, but that was a long time
ago.
