First of all, a very big welcome to some new exchange club members.
Marian Murray who hails from Longford and is now resident in county
Laois.
Edward who hails from Lithuania, and who uses an iPhone 11.
Finally William Coffee who hails from Kildare. All three are very
welcome.
Cearbhall was very stressed out at the start, as host of the meeting, he
was
unable to let in the first couple of participants. Jackie explained that
you
must go first to the list of participants, to admit people from the
waiting
room.
Again Cearbhall made co hosts of Joe and Jackie
Dominique Got a message saying update to Jaws 21, she clicked update,
and
was given a set of numbers. But now she is only getting Jaws in 40
minute
mode.
She was advised by Cearbhall/Bert to enter the code numbers she was given,
and she should be updated to Jaws 21.
Noreen confirmed when she bought Jaws 20, she then got Jaws 21 when it
was
available. Included in the purchase price.
Dominique also has a problem with her Alexa device since she installed
Amazon Alexa on her smart phone.
She is not getting the right weather forecast for the area she lives in,
though when she checked her settings, she had her address in but the
postal
code number was not there so this is probably why she does not get the
local forecast.
The messages she gets says undefined, whatever that means, she was
advised
to pair her phone again with Alexa to see if this works. Perhaps she can
let
us know if this works.
Albert has taken to writing in Japanese!!
Cearbhall in his e mail today says that this problem might be cured by
sending outlook mails in plain text mode. This happened to Bert when
forwarding his reply to Paul to the mailing list.
It seems to happen when forwarding messages to the free list. Paul
Said that he would forward the same message to Cearbhall only, to see if
there is any problems.
At this juncture Jackie mysteriously disappeared again, never to be heard
of after. .
Perhaps Jackie's nose was out of joint as we heared that she is not the
only radio star, as Cearbhall was on Newstalk, and Declan was on 98fm,
Regarding mobility issues for blind people crossing from the new islands
surrounding the cycle tracks. .
It seems that under the new bus connect plans, as one has to change their
bus to continue their journey, they are left at
A bus close to an island in the middle of the road, and then must cross a
cycle lane to get boarding on their second bus.
Mary has two e mail addresses and wanted to delete one of them,
She received a number of suggestions especially from Martin as he had this
problem,
Perhaps Mary can tell us if his advice worked.
There was more discussion on that wonderful software called Jamulus, it
seems according to Cearbhall that this software can iron out the various
notes in music which appear during choir rehersals are all at a split
second
different in time and this software can get the notes to sound exactly
at
the same time of delivery.
Edward our new member has a problem in using Whats app, the echo sound to
announce the characters/words are not working when using the app.
When using ordinary text messages, the echo sound works fine, but not in
Whats app.
Edward under instructions from William/Martha/Cearbhall, looked at the
various settings in whats app,
And checked settings like sounds and haptics /typing modes etc,
But everybody thought it best to delete the app and install it again.
When using jaws software one can get it to call out the letters and words
when typing, this is called jaws echo on.
Edward said he would report back on how this worked out for him.
