Declan helped Frank to use and engage with siri,
and Frank has made good progress in learning to use his iPHONE.
There was much discussion on the iPhone 7 and 8,
and a general discussion on face recognition as a security device on the latest
iPhones.
Paul and Bert showed Mary , how to share multiple photoes from her photo album
with a contact on whats app,
select the photoes you wish to share, and swipe right till you find the share
button, and swipe right again until you hear whats app,
select your contact from the contact list, and swipe again until you hear send.
Then we were treated to a talk on security issues on laptops/desk
tops/mobile phones and bogus calls.
It was a general talk on Phising/bogus calls and phoney e - mails.
Microsoft will never call anybody, so if someone's calling you to help get rid
of viruses on your phone or with an offer that sounds too good to be true.
It probably is a scam.
Dont be afraid to ask the caller for his number and name and say you will get
back to him. Then call your bank to see if there were people making calls to
customers. The answer will be probably noas banks rarely call you, and when
you establish that nobody from the bank/microsoft had not rung you, then you
know its a scam.
People who make these calls to fix your pc, or inform you of a great offers are
Phishing.
ie trying to get information from your smart phone/laptop/pc, by accessing your
bank account/e mails and so forth.
It is recommended that you should only use https sites whichhave a lock symbol
which denotes fully secured website. Thank you Declan for the great talk.
