I’m glad to hear that update about Joe too. I hadn’t heard anything from him in
nearly 30 years. I still remember him actually winning the shirt off some guys
back playing pool at Sparky’s. He got a big kick out of that.

Thanks for this update on Joe Holliman. He owes me some tropical fish...when I
left TAMU in 78, Joe & Ricki were living east of campus. I had a 40 gal
aquarium with African cichlids, the most colorful fresh water, hobbyist fish.
And not cheap for college kids. Joe had a similar aquarium. So I took my fish
to board with his, as they would not survive the move to Dallas.
I haven't seen or spoken to Joe since then. Good to hear he is doing better.
Guess we've all had problems in life of one sort or another. All you have to do
is live long enough.

Queso, I know you were asking about Joe. I’m still good friends with his ex
wife Waggie Ricki. Joe had some problems with substance abuse that effected his
heart and eventually had a run in with the law. She says he’s been clean and
sober for over 10 years, living in an RV on South Padre, watching the waves and
playing golf. His health has improved once he got Medicare and started getting
a doc to work on his heart, according to Ricki. Groad
