Good evening Toastmasters!
We had a great day last Thursday, with over twenty in attendance, including
five guests. Toastmaster *Luke Vesely* had a great Civil War Theme, and
many of us experienced the presence of former Civil War Ghostmasters, such
as Abraham Lincoln, John Brown, Stonewall Jackson, General Lee and Benjamin
Franklin Butler. Skirmishes (WOD) aside, the meeting progressed to
speeches, where *Shonnie Cline* gave an icebreaker*, Colette Smith* convinced
us to travel to Vancouver, and *Lisa Marty *reminded us to save the planet
with the three R’s. *Shonnie** *and *Colette* tied for speech of the
night. Congratulations to you both![?]

*Elizabeth Vidmar*, *Brittany Jones* and *Bill Farrand* were evaluators,
with Bill winning best evaluator of the night. [?]
Table Topics was coordinated by KathyBarrett who combined modern times
with Civil War history with her game-show like approach to Table Topics. There
were great educational lessons on yellow-jackets, Stonewall Jackson and
King Cotton, and *Dirk Kittredge* won best Table Topics of the night with
his accurate description of the very clean Harriet Tubman. [?]
Special thanks to *Ah Counters* and Timers *Adam Vesely* and *Shawnett
Callahan*, and to Dirk for his multiple roles as Greeter, Grammarian, WOD
and Tubman historian.
