Fellow Toastmasters, It is my personal policy to only send out group emails when I feel there is something very important that must be communicated. This is one of those times. Today you all received an email from former member, Bev Wheeler. In it she disparages three members of our leadership team. The tone of her email today is indicative of the many emails a few board members have consistently been receiving since she joined our club. We addressed this issue with her privately and were assured these type of emails would end. Instead they increased. Your leadership team strives to work quietly, behind the scenes, to keep the club running smoothly and drama free. To this end, I will share with you the following: 1. The Leadership Team currently in place, (Lori, Dirk, Feliks, Beth & Brittany) have, in my opinion, behaved in an ethical, thoughtful and professional manner at all times. 2. There were no secret board meetings, never have been nor will be. 3. Bev resigned from the club verbally, to two board members, weeks ago. Her resignation as a board member was accepted (you must be a member of FRTM in order to serve on it's board). 4. Bev changed her mind about resigning, however the leadership team decided unanimously not to reverse her vacated seat on the board. 5. The Leadership Team followed protocol and procedural standards as set forth by Toastmasters International. I'm sorry you were all snared in this tide of negativity. It's over now, lets move forward and continue our quest for personal growth and positive reinforcement.
