Did you know there is a monument in Helena Montana to all the
Confederate dead from Montana? The only problem is, Montana didn't have
any confederate soldiers in the civil war. In fact they didn't have any
Union soldiers either. Montana wasn't even a state during the civil
war. They were part of Indian country during the civil war - just ask
George Armstrong Custer. Montana wasn't admitted to the union until
1889, a quarter century after the civil war ended.
This is just another myth of history and I will explore more at
Thursday's meeting. You will want to be there.
