You were right on the mark with your remarks CJ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Fellow Toastmasters, I'll say it like I said it last week...You should have been there! If you weren?t there last night you missed another GREAT meeting! We were all taken on the three different journeys through the lives of our newest FRTMs with their ICE Breakers.....Incredible stories! Do you remember giving yours? I do. In fact, I gave mine a second time only last month?it was actually more fun this time (I even think I did a better job of it, too). The ICE Breaker is one of my favorite speeches to listen to. My reasoning is that it marks the trail head of the path to being a better speaker. PLUS I get to know my new friends in real and captivating way...in a speech that they have spent their time putting it together?.and then they share a part of them with us.. their story. Best of all, its a true story. I know I might sound like a broken record but at that risk, I'll say it again, ?These three people have begun to set a new sail in the course of their lives?. I am so glad to have been there to be a witness to and share in the joy of this first step in their new direction in life!!! Although it may not seem like a big deal, it's like being the captain of a big beautiful Ocean-Liner and by turning the rudder only one degree starboard or port and in 1? 10?. or 1000 miles?. they will be in a much different place than they were today. And that goes for all of us, right? Look at Jeff giving his advanced manual speech last night. I was inspired and it help and it help me along in my ?gimp? today! You really won?t want to miss another meeting, we have added three new members (Calvin and Dawn) attending last night (one just joined welcome Jean) and you will want to be here to get to know them and share in the moment of their ICE Breaker, too. Also coming up is our Inspirational Speech and Table Topics Contest?.more details to come! Here's your golden ticket to join us and rekindle the fun in learning to be a better speaker, leader, fellow Toastmaster, and friend. Ta...taa... for now. Michael FRTM, President
