Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
This was our annual toastmasters at the park. 9 members were in attendance
and no guests. Richa and Issac were the food chair and a big thank you to
them for putting it all together. Getting the food, microphone, and lights
and all the behind the scenes work and effort was all worth it. Thank you.
Robin was our toastmaster for the evening and he was the host with the
most. He addressed himself in 3rd person which I thought was hilarious.
Highlights from the evening
1. Katelynn Pau was grammarian and her word of the day was Temperate.
Colette used the word of the day in her recap describing everyone's
gestures were temperate. And Colette was right. With the entire park as
our stage, we all choose to stand around in the same spot.
2. Jeff Stoll with his joke comparing bread and sun. The sun rises in the
east and sets in the waist.
3. Two speakers with Richa Acharya on networking and myself with Best day
Ever. The common denominator with the two speakers were that they had only
a few days to put together a speech. Despite the lack of preparation, I
don't think it showed. Good job Richa. Good job Alan. (see, 3rd person
is hilarious).
4. Notable Table Topics: Jonathan on a decapitated canary. Richa, hot
springs, clothing optional. Luis with Bambi and deer meat. Robin with
Geese chewing up grass the size of a golf hole and feeding the geese to the
homeless.
5. Jennifer Dunne was evaluator to Richa and her great comment on Richa
starring at the members in the audience until she got a response. Robin
finally was picked on and he responded with "I'm not a good example".

Final Thoughts for the evening.
I always find that when there's a small amount of members in attendance,
it's always more personable. Big numbers are great too but there's
something special with smaller groups. Maybe it was the root beer. Maybe
it was the food. Maybe it was the company. Maybe it was the park. Put it
all together and it was another great meeting.
