Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
Toastmaster of the evening was Ray Pezolt. Theme was Private
Investigations.
Joe Mannix - Mike Connors. Mike Hammer - Stacy Keach. Barnaby Jones -
Buddy Ebsen. And Ray even dressed up as a bush one time. It was a fun and
entertaining theme. There were nine members and one guest.
Highlights of the evening.
1. Robin McIntosh gave his speech titled Daddy Issues. Robin mentions
forgetting names but I don't buy it. He remembers plenty. I'm becoming
Robin is a phrase he hears when he forgets things.
2. Luis Estrada gave his speech on rules of recycling. What is trash and
what is garbage. Just pick it up.
3. Katelynn Pau was our table topics master. Dirk with Gosh darn it now
I'm stuck, door stop. Robin with reach for the button, remote. And Alex
with leather and fashionista, brief case.
4. Evaluations from Johnathan Kolber on Robin. Johnathan mentions the
phrase "I'm becoming Robin" in Robin's speech and that Jennifer reminds him
of being forgetful and that "he's been there too". Makes me wonder when
Johnathan does forget something, does Jennifer say to Johnathan "your
becoming Robin" or does she say your becoming Johnathan?
5. Bill Farrand was our excellent General Evaluator. He summed up the
meeting in his way that defines a style that only can be described as Bill
Farrand.
Ribbon Winners:

Best Evaluator: Dirk
Best Speech: Luis.
Congratulations to all the Ribbon winners. Many times after the meeting,
members stay after to chat. They stay to go over the meeting, maybe to go
over next weeks meeting, or maybe to gossip about other members. Whatever
the chat is about, it's the best of times because it's when we all
connect. Sometimes, it's the best part of the meeting. I had mentioned in
my table topics that I enjoy my "alone" time. (and I do) but that does not
mean I don't enjoy company when company is present. After the meeting
everyone left very quickly. I don't want anyone leaving on my account. My
alone time has nothing to do with everyone staying afterwards. Everyone
can stay as long as they want. We did get out a few minutes early and
maybe everyone wanted to see the end of the Broncos game. Just know that
we can all stay after the meeting and there's no rush to have to leave.
Next week is our Halloween theme party. I'll always have a soft spot for
this meeting because it was my (and Robin's) first visit to this club three
years ago on Halloween.
And another reminder, after the regular meeting, we are having the
officer's meeting (so officers, you have to stay late with me). Another
reminder in that our club is NOT meeting on 31 October. Until next week, I
