No option for that, I agree.
That said, I do see value in having the icons appear from bottom-to-top
instead of left-to-right. With 16:9 widescreens, you can spare a bit of
window width to leave space for the Desktop to peek thru if you want to.
Then you can see new icons popping up there.\\
With left-to-right, you'd have to give up your already limited vertical
space.
I'd also start populating the Desktop from the bottom corner the Deskbar
is NOT. It may look convenient at first to do the opposite, because people
keep the space below the Deskbar visible normally, as their windows often
don't go atop the Deskbar. But if the Deskbar grows with more running
apps, those icons will disappear under it and moving Deskbar is less
convenient.
