For test, first try the VGA option:

1. Disconnect monitor cable. Leave it disconnected.
2. Boot or reboot computer. Let computer boot until disk activity stops
entirely.
3. Reconnect monitor cable.

If successful:
You should see the blue desktop (or installation GUI, if Live CD, so pick
'boot to Desktop').
Post the syslog data to bug report.
Snapshot the desktop's screen preferences GUI.
