#9419: Some icon meanings may not scale internationally ------------------------------+------------------------- Reporter: mks | Owner: stippi Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: low | Milestone: R1 Component: User Interface | Version: R1/alpha4.1 Resolution: | Keywords: icon, HVIF Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ------------------------------+------------------------- Comment (by axeld): For the record, I do not like the boot manager icon either, but that's solely based on the fact that it sticks out: It looks nice by itself, but it doesn't fit well with the other ones, as it looks more fine grained, and detailed. Furthermore, since we use a rocket to indicate the volume that the system booted from, I think it would be natural to make those two more consistent, and use that as the basic idea for the BootManager, too. In general, though, I don't think everyone has to understand the meaning of a **every** icon. It just needs to be memorable (ie. not too complex), and is differentiable from other icons; the things an icon stands for are often too complex. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9419#comment:14> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
