Hello Everyone,

I am writing this message to let everyone know what the
discussion topics in our next ATM and Interconnect meetings
will be so that people involved in the proposals could
prepare for the discussions, and people interested in the
discussions could make themselves available for the meetings.
(Mike, I hope you don't mind me making this pre-announcement
about the next Interconnect meeting agenda).

On Tuesday, 12/18 I would like to discuss the Repeater/Redriver
and/or the Back channel proposals in the ATM meeting. There
seems to be some inter-related questions between these two
topics (does the Back channel communication go through the
repeaters or not, etc...) so we might touch on both topics
in the same discussion.

On Wednesday, 12/19 we will discuss the analog buffer modeling
proposals (BIRDs 116-118, 122 and related) in the Interconnect
meeting. For some time I heard Walter say that he would support
BIRD 116 and drop 122, but more recently I also heard him say
that he would like to kill all the existing analog BIRDs and do
things differently. I think we need to make some decisions on
these questions, and decide on what direction we want to take
so we could continue hammering out the details.

I hope to have a good attendance in both meetings in order to
be able to make good decisions for the future of our industry.
Don't hesitate to use any of these email reflectors to discuss
these topics if you can't attend the meetings.

Thanks,

Arpad
