Mike,

You are correct about the original intent. But what we learned is that IC
Vendors are using the same DLL for multiple models, and part of configuring
the DLL for a specific model passing to the DLL some of the Reserved
Parameters. The simple solution is to deprecate the Reserved and Model
Specific Branches, and just determine if a parameter is reserved by it's
name, and to have rules on each Reserved Parameter as to is allowed Usage,

I agree with your first question and think you've asked it in a very
clear way.

On your second question, the original intent as I've always understood
it was that only the ModelSpecific branch gets sent to the DLL. This
makes sense in that there's nothing in the Reserved branch that would be
of any use to the DLL. Conversely, the contents of the Reserved branch
are very useful to the EDA platform. The EDA platform will also use the
ModelSpecific branch to determine what controls are to be offered to the
user.
