------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opens:

- Arpad: The agenda was sent out over 2.5 hours before the meeting
started, but for some reason the server did not deliver it
to the recipients yet. (It just arrived at the moment this
          was said).
- Walter: Would like to discuss the topic of how supply voltages are
supplied or used (sink/source) by models under[External Model]

--------------------------
Call for patent disclosure:

- None

-------------
Review of ARs:

- Arpad update BIRD 160 draft to eliminate any dependence on other BIRDs
  - Done

- Arpad try to apply BIRD 158 shortcut language to his BIRDs 116-118
  - In progress

- Walter write new BIRD for repeater/retimer pin keywords
  - In progress

-------------
New Discussion:

Interconnect Task Group report:
- Michael M: Reviewing EMD proposal

Analog BIRDs:

- Arpad shared BIRD 160.1 draft 4 (spell checked version) on the screen
and asked if there were any last minute comments or questions

- Todd:
  - go to the section where the rules about the tree syntax are defined
    - the rules about parameter trees in .ami files are OK
    - where are the rules defined for the case when the parameter tree
      is in a non-AMI file?

- Arpad pointed to the reference where the parameter tree definitions in
the IBIS specification is mentioned with the exceptions and additions
  listed
  - after some discussion and a suggestion made by Ambrish, Arpad added
"in Section 10A" to that sentence in the document that was shared on
    the screen

- A long discussion followed about Section 10A defining AMI trees and
the need for separating tree syntax and context specific rules for
  parameters in the tree
  - are Usage types needed for non-AMI parameter files
  - is the Model_Specific branch required for non-AMI parameter files
  - etc...
  - Arpad pointed out that Section 10A mixes tree syntax and parameter
rules, but this BIRD overrides some of those rules by stating that
Reserved_Parameters was not required in non-AMI parameter files but
the rest of the rules and the syntax still apply.
  - Walter commented that BIRD 160.1 should not be approved until the
tree syntax and parameter rules are separated into different chapters
  - Several people responded that we can fix that later, but for now we
can make use of the existing definitions on Section 10A

- A discussion followed on the question whether the Model_Specific branch
was required in non-AMI parameter files

- Arpad pointed to pg. 173 in the v5.1 specification which states that:

"Reserved_Parameters" and "Model_Specific" are the only branches permitted
to be connected to the root of the tree."

Based on this, if Reserved_Parameters are not present in the non-AMI
  parameter file, Model_Specific becomes required

- A suggestion was made to change the non-AMI rules so that the
Reserved_Parameters branch is not allowed and the Model_Specific
branch is required in a non-AMI parameter file

- Arpad changed one of the occurrences of these rules in the document
on the screen according to this request

- Bob noted that the examples do not contain the Model_Specific branch
  after the tree root name.

- Arpad responded that this was a left over from an earlier draft of
BIRD 160.1 which relied on BIRD 153 which stated that none of these
branches were required in a general parameter tree.

- Arpad changed some of the examples in the document on the screen
  according to this request

- After no other questions and comments were raised on this draft of
BIRD 160.1 by the participants, Arpad made a motion to submit BIRD
160.1 with the changes made in the preceding discussion to the Open
  Forum for review
- Ambrish seconded the motion
- Todd requested a clarification on what the motion was
- Arpad stated that the vote is about submitting BIRD 160.1 to the IBIS
Open Forum for review including the modifications made on line during
  the meeting discussion.
- Walter added that the BIRD will have to be un-tabled in the Open Forum
  before discussion can continue

After some additional discussion a vote was taken with the following results:

Agilent: * Fangyi Rao Yes
