--------------------------
Call for patent disclosure:

- No one declared a patent.

-----
Opens:

- SiSoft posted new kit BIRD107.2
  - Stimulus generator outputs analog waveform
  - Suitable for testing RX model standalone
  - TX GetWave() now applies equalization that Init() would have applied
- Todd will have more info next week

- Cadence kit has been updated with documentation clarifications.

-------------
Review of ARs:

- Michael Mirmak list pros and cons of ICM and EMD
  - Presented today

- David Banas report Xilinx position on LTI assumption for SerDes
  - No update

- Arpad: Write parameter passing syntax proposal (BIRD draft)
for *-AMS models in IBIS that is consistent with the
parameter passing syntax of the AMI models
  - TBD

- TBD: Propose a parameter passing syntax for the SPICE
  - [External ...] also?
  - TBD

- Arpad: Review the documentation (annotation) in the macro libraries.
  - Deferred until a demand arises or we have nothing else to do

-------------
New Discussion:

Michael M presented on Pros and Cons of ICM:
- Work on EMD and HSPICE is TBD
- ICM has no parameters, can not pass in length, for example.
- Can't mix S-param and RLGC in one model, back to back
  - The need for this was simply not foreseen
  - Arpad: maybe this was prohibited because of swathing
- If we are going to have a full nodal topology description we should
  standardize on SPICE
  - ICM can not be used for this
  - We are left with EMD and SPICE
- Michael M: Do we need a full nodal representation?
  - Arpad: yes, to connect modules to interconnect
  - Michael M: Maybe this is mission creep if we are now modeling whole systems
- Michael M: Prefer to see ICM as part of the solution.

- Brad Brim: IBIS Pkg looks at 1 stage RLGC
  - Multiple stage could have arbitrary coupling among sections
  - Would help to have sections with different arrangements
    - Example, 2 branches that are coupled.
  - Michael M: This can be done.

- Arpad: We need to look at EMD and SPICE next
- Walter: The key part is not the netlist language, but what we are hooking up.
  - Which primitives do we need?
    - Poles and zeroes?
  - Michael M: EMD is a good starting point for discussion.

AR: Walter prepare list of primitives for discussion next week

Bob: should there be a DAC meeting about this?
- The DAC IBIS summit is in 2 weeks.
- This might fit into the summit agenda.
- Walter will not be there.

Next meeting: 03 Jun 2008 12:00pm PT
