All,
Attached is the list that I showed that shows more detail and impact. I may
update this later.
The concern I have is that a Specification without a parser is useless for
most EDA vendors who use the source code.
It is also useless to model developers who cannot validate the models.
So putting in too much functionality may delay a parser due to complexity
and also due to possible new funding issues and licensing. A V6.2 release
avoids new licensing issues.
So, I favor a 6.2 release as the next release.

Subject: [ibis-macro] Motion To Define the Next Release of IBIS
All,
I would like to propose the following motion at this Friday's Open Forum:
I move that the next release of IBIS be called TBD, and contain the
following approved BIRDs:
BIRD179 New IBIS-AMI Reserved Parameter Special_Param_Names
BIRD180 Require Unique Pin_Names in [Pin]
BIRD182 POWER and GND [Pin] signal_name as [Pin Mapping] bus_label
BIRD183 [Model Data] Matrix Subparameter Terminology Correction
BIRD184.2 Model_name and Signal_name Restriction for POWER and GND
Pins
BIRD185.2 Section 3 Reserved Word Guideline Update
BIRD188.1 Expanded Rx_Noise Support for AMI
I also move that the following BIRDs that have not been approved, also be
included in this release. The (Yes:No) numbers are the results of the straw
poll vote on recommending to the Open Forum.
13:0 BIRD186.1 File Naming Rules
13:0 BIRD147.6 Back-channel Support
13:0 BIRD187.3 Format and Usage Out Clarifications
11:2 BIRD181.1 I-V Table Clarifications
12:1 BIRD158.3 AMI Touchstone (R) Analog Buffer Models.
I request that we have individual votes on each of the BIRDs that have not
been approved.
I request that once the list have been finalized we can have a vote on
whether to call this release 6.2|7.0|2017.06
