All,
I am changing Motion 2 at Bob Billers request, and added a third motion:
Motion 2:
Do you agree that a redriver channel with Tx1, Rx1, Tx2 and Rx2 being Dual
models:
1. IBIS 6.1 Redriver Flow may give the wrong time domain answer.
2. BIRD 166 gives the right answer
Motion 3:
Do you agree that a redriver channel with Tx1, Rx1, Tx2 and Rx2 being Dual
models:
1. IBIS 6.1 Redriver Flow gives the wrong statistical answer.
2. BIRD 166 gives the right answer

Subject: Motions I intend to introduce in today's ATM Meeting re BIRD 166,
190
All,
Motion 1:
Do you agree that a redriver channel with Tx1, Rx1, Tx2 and Rx2 being
Init-Only models:
1. IBIS 6.1 Redriver Fow gives the wrong answer.
2. BIRD 166 gives the right answer.
Motion 2:
Do you agree that a redriver channel with Tx1, Rx1, Tx2 and Rx2 being
Dualmodels:
1. IBIS 6.1 Redriver Flow gives the wrong answer.
2. BIRD 166 gives the right answer.
Reasons:
Motion 1:
1. In order for Rx2 to generate the correct DFE taps and other
equalization, it requires the combined IR of all upstream channels and
model equalizations. In the IBIS 6.1 Redrive Flow the Upstream Channel IR
is not included in the IR input to Rx2.
2. In IBIS 6.1 redrive flow, the IR of the upstream channel when
applied to the output of Rx2 incorrectly scales the DFE equalization of
Rx2.
Motion 2:
1. The IBIS 6.1 Redriver Flow gives the incorrect flow If the Rx2
GetWave equalization requires that the Rx2 AMI_Init IR contains the IR
equalization of all of the upstream channels and model equalizations.
