Hi Arpad,
I have two questions regarding the following statement in the BIRD.
" The waveform output of the Rx AMI_GetWave shall be adjusted so that the EDA
tool can add DC_Offset to get the voltage of the waveform at the slicer (aka
latch, decision point) of the single ended port."
Q1. If the waveform at the slicer is centered at 0V, then the waveform output
of the Rx AMI_GetWave should be centered at -DC_Offset. Is that correct?
Q2. In statistical simulation, without AMI_GetWave, how does EDA tool knows
where the center of the waveform at the slicer is?
One way to address Q2 is 1) keep the center of Rx AMI_GetWave output waveform
at 0V (as in SerDes), and 2) make DC_Offset Usage InOut so that Rx AMI_Init can
return the center of the waveform at the slicer to EDA tool.
Thanks,
Fangyi

Subject: [ibis-macro] New draft for BIRD197
[EXTERNAL]
Hello Everyone,
As you may recall, the vote for BIRD197.2 was postponed in the last IBIS Open
Forum meeting with the request to the IBIS-ATM Task Group to fix the
typographical errors which were discovered in it.
The attached file is a new draft for BIRD197.3 in which we corrected these
problems.
I would like to ask everyone to review this document for the next IBIS-ATM
meeting, and if we don't find any other problems, we will submit it to the Open
Forum following that meeting.
Thanks,
Arpad
