This is a bit off topic, but I just had a "Wow!" moment when I realized that
the Eric Schmidt who wrote Lex at Bell Labs is the same Eric Schmidt who is now
CEO of Google:

The newer versions of lex and yacc are called flex and bison. They've
been part of every Red Hat Linux release I've worked on (3, 4, and 5). I
imagine they're part of most Linux installations. I'm current in these
tools.
