That's true. but yeah try that compressor and the speech enhancer I think 
that's where it is. I don't have gb open at the moment but all in all it's 
good. I plan on doing a test recording with a bit of compression when I get my 
new piece of kit.

Also I took classes and have a degree in this stuff, how ever I still hate it 
as  if used improperly like  you said the results can be dreadful lol!
